In order to rent a car, you need to be at least 18 years old, have a valid driving licence, passport or valid ID, and a credit card. Every car is insured, and you will have to leave a deposit that will be reimbursed once you return the car.
It is possible that you may find Venezuelans' style of driving somewhat particular to begin with, but you will get used to after few hours of driving. It is always important to practice defensive driving.
