Handicrafts

There are many craftspeople on Margarita Island, especially ceramicists, and painters. Some of the places where you can find crafts are:

Veneguay: it is located on Avenida 31 de Julio close to Centro Comercial Paraguachí. They make and sell beautiful original pieces of craftwork.

Arte sengesArte Senges: William Senges is a famous local artist who sells pieces of craftwork, and paintings in El Salado on Avenida 31 de Julio.
Along the main roads, there are stalls where you can buy hammocks.

El Cercado: it is a small town on the way to Juan Griego. In El Cercado, it is possible to find pottery made in the same way as in colonial times. There is a shop in the town.


Santa Ana: in the town of Santa Ana, there is a whole industry centered on hammock production. They are sold around the island. There are several shops on the road. The hammocks might look a little bit expensive, but you have to take into account that they are handmade and it takes several days to make just one.

La Casa de las Muñecas (The House of Dolls): this is the place to find a typical Venezuelan doll. It is located on Avenida 31 de Julio, past Cocheima gas station.
