Horse Riding in Macanao
For those who enjoy horseback riding, or feel confident enough to ride a horse, we recommend an excursion to Rancho Cabatucan in Peninsula de Macanao.
The excursion can be booked at any travel agency, or directly at Rancho Cabatucan. The ride lasts 2 hours, and it can be taken in the morning or in the afternoon. The weather during the afternoon is fresher.
There is transport to the ranch from the hotel; nevertheless, if you wish to get there by your 
own means, you need to drive or go by taxi. To find Rancho Cabatucan, take the road from Boca de Rio to Robledal in Peninsula de Macanao, after a few kilometers, you will see signs indicating the entrance to the ranch. On Rancho Cabatucan's website, you will able to find the exact address.
The facilities at Rancho Cabatucan are very nice. The ride could be a little uncomfortable for people with little experience on horse riding. The first hour of the ride is at slow pace around Macanao's mountains. The sand is red, and the cacti remind us of the Wild 
West. You will take a ride on the beach during the second hour of the excursion. You will be accompanied by a guide from the ranch.
